SARAH HAERTL RECEIVES INDUSTRY AWARD

Nov 7, 2012

(Wichita, Kan.) – INTRUST Bank Arena is proud to announce that Venues Today has named Sarah Haertl the recipient of the 2012 Hall of Headlines Marketing Award. The annual awards celebrate headline-making people and the events that changed our thinking in 2012 in the categories of News, Bookings, Marketing and Concessions.

Sarah Haertl, former Director of Sales and Marketing, was nominated and won in the marketing category for an eye-catching ad campaign during her time at INTRUST Bank Arena. In 2012, INTRUST Bank Arena implemented a four-part trade advertising campaign. Each ad in the series highlights a specific customer service initiative offered to promoters, tours and artists from the building. The ad campaign was designed to stand out in the industry where most ads feature an image of the building or of artists who have played at the building. Haertl created a campaign that was unique and eye-catching and response from promoters and industry peers has been incredibly positive.

“I’m very proud of the work we did at INTRUST Bank Arena. We set out to make a splash in the industry, and I believe we accomplished this,” said Sarah Haertl. “There is nothing more meaningful than to be recognized by your peers.”

Haertl has recently transitioned to the SMG-managed BOK Center and Tulsa Convention Center as Director of Marketing. In addition, she has also been named SMG Regional Marketing Director for the Midwest.

“Sarah invested a lot of time and hard work into our 2012 advertising campaign and we’re thrilled to see her recognized as the recipient of this award,” said SMG General Manager, A.J. Boleski. “She strived to push the envelope in the industry and we’re proud of her achievements from her time at INTRUST Bank Arena.”

Christine Pileckas, Marketing Manager, was also a nominee in the award’s marketing category. Pileckas was nominated for the Arena’s ’12 Days of Entertainment’ promotion that ran December 12 through December 23, 2011.

Winners were determined by vote through Venues Today subscribers and staff. Winners will be showcased and caricatured in the Year-End Issue December 2012.
