(Wichita, Kan.) – INTRUST Bank Arena staff received multiple nominations for the Venues Today 2012 Hall of Headlines awards. The annual awards celebrate headline-making people and the events that changed our thinking in 2012 in the categories of News, Bookings, Marketing and Concessions.

Christine Pileckas, Marketing Manager, was nominated in the marketing category for the ’12 Days of Entertainment’ promotion, based on the ever-popular ’12 Days of Christmas’ theme. The promotion ran from December 12 through December 23, concluding with a grand prize of a golden ticket, good for two tickets to every event at the arena in 2012. The promotion was hosted through INTRUST Bank Arena’s Facebook page, received 4,621 entries and increased the Arena’s Facebook fans by 4,831 in 19 days. As a result of Christine’s efforts, INTRUST Bank Arena ranked #47 and #51 in the first two editions of the Venues Today Social Media Power 100 Chart.

Sarah Haertl, former Director of Sales and Marketing, was also nominated in the marketing category for an eye-catching ad campaign during her time at INTRUST Bank Arena. In 2012, INTRUST Bank Arena implemented a four-part trade advertising campaign. Each ad in the series highlights a specific customer service initiative offered to promoters, tours and artists from the building. The ad campaign was designed to stand out in the industry where most ads feature an image of the building or of artists who have played at the building. Haertl created a campaign that was unique and eye-catching and response from promoters and industry peers has been
incredibly positive.

“We’re thrilled to have multiple employees nominated in the Venues Today Hall of Headlines awards for the second year in a row,” said SMG General Manager, A.J. Boleski. “Our staff continually strives to be on the cutting edge of the industry and these nominations are a reflection of their passion and hard work.”
