Cleaning Services Manager

Under general supervision of the Operations Director, manage, coordinate, supervise, and direct personnel, subcontractors, and the daily activities involved in the successful execution of events, daily cleaning and maintenance of the INTRUST Bank Arena by performing the following duties personally and through subordinate supervisors and personnel.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Oversees all custodial services, including ordering supplies, scheduling labor, and implementing cost savings measures.
• Maintain, inspect and repair any related equipment.
• Work with Human Resources to hire and train all custodial workers, including custodial supervisor(s), event attendants and temporary workers.
• Oversee the building grounds, stairways, plaza and entryways to present a well-kept and clean appearance at all times.
• Purchase all cleaning supplies including paper products, bags and equipment.
• Create schedules, reports and other administrative requirements of the custodial operations.
• Act as building liaison with labor providers, salesperson, and other suppliers to guarantee best rates and prices. Also, negotiates agreement for dispensers and other equipment.
• Continually inspect the facility to insure that proper cleaning is being performed on all facilities and areas.
• Be trained and train all staff on Blood Borne Pathogens, including part-time staff.
• Assist in building shut down, lock out and structural security after events and during dark periods.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Operations Director.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.  
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Cleaning Services Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrate knowledge of the industrial cleaning techniques, chemical and industrial paper products, purchasing guidelines and employee management principles.
• Possess skills and experience in labor relations and supervising /training personnel.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

Director of Ticketing

Under moderate supervision of the Assistant General Manager/Director of Finance, Operate Select-A-Seat Ticketing Agency on a daily and event specific basis; including day-to-day box office operation for INTRUST Bank Arena, The Orpheum Theater and other outside venues, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee the internal control of daily operations as outlined in the SMG Box Office Manual.
• Oversee the internal and external control of daily operations for Select-A-Seat with INTRUST Bank Arena and outside venues.
• Coordinate event information between the promoter, facility personnel and the ticketing client representative in a timely manner.
• Build, modify, and review all ticketing event setups within Tickets.com ticketing software. 
• Monitor daily ticket sales for all upcoming events and communicate information to the General Manager, Director of Marketing, and promoter representative.
• Establish files on each event that consist of seats on-hold for the building and promoter, complimentary ticket, event audits and ticket inventory schedules.
• Oversee and maintain communication with Box Office Manager and Client Ticketing Representative for updates and/or revisions in the ticketing system.
• Communicate with promoters and send requested information timely.
• Through the use of Tix Track, manage the price scaling for all events as directed by the shows and General Manager.
• Maintain security of the cash vault and accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale.
• Prepare and present the final box office statement for settlement for each event.
• Create and produce all box office sales reports.  Account for ticket sales for each event and provide accounting with reconciled daily activity reports.
• Respond to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public.
• Actively participate in weekly Director and production meetings along with quarterly staff meetings.  Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all of the other departments.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Create and implement a strategy for growing the Select-A-Seat brand through the addition of new clients.
• Maintain good relationships with current Select-A-Seat clients by meeting with them on a minimum of quarterly basis and providing them value-added solutions to enhance the ticket buying process.
• Review and renew contracts with current Select-A-Seat clients in advance of their expiration.
• Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to continue and develop INTRUST Bank Arena marketing support for Select-A-Seat.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and direct the full-time employees currently consisting of the Box Office Manager and Client Ticketing Representative.  Oversee the part-time ticket sellers and supervisors.  Responsible for the overall leadership, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the box office department and Select-A-Seat ticketing agency. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include annual strategic planning, establishing department goals, interviewing, hiring and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraisal performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Skills Required:

Maintenance Technician 1

Under direction of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for preventive maintenance, and repairs to the buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.   Must have working knowledge of all building mechanical (air handlers, blower coil units), electrical (110/220, 277/480 volt), HVAC, boiler plant, Trane chiller plant, plumbing (automatic flush valves, automatic sink faucets), life safety, fire protection and suppression systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions out of the ordinary.  608 technician certified.

Responsibilities:
• Preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boiler plant, chiller plant, ice plant equipment and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights, etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include, but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), recirculating air systems, water pumping systems, cooling plant and all plumbing system components. Also conduct general building maintenance, as needed.
• Operate, monitor and perform preventive maintenance on an Ammonia ice plant, used for freezing the arena floor for ice events.
• Monitor operation of the HVAC systems, noting current status, identifying potential problems and taking corrective action where appropriate.
• Work with outside contractors when required.
• Submit completed work orders on time.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, filters, and belts as required.
• Read and interpret performance charts and control panels to evaluate the efficiency of each system.
• Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the site.
• Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies, prepare requisition forms for purchases and pick-up supplies and materials from vendors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
• Run facility’s environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC and lighting systems.
• Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position requires ability to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting, carrying, moving climbing, working from various heights, and with moderate to blaring noises.  Must be able to read reports and use computer, standing/walking, climbing/stooping/kneeling.  Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, pulling/pushing/fingering/grasping/feeling, must be able to write type and use phone and cell phone.  Outdoor work required within seasonal temperatures, may be exposed to extreme heat or cold.

Operations Supervisor

Under direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is a working supervisor position as well as directs and coordinates facility personnel, subcontractors, and daily activities involved in the successful preparation and execution of events at the facility.   

Responsibilites:
• Supervise and participate in back of house operations of the arena to include facility set-up, tear-down, and clean-up using staff to ensure the arena is event ready and maintained on a day to day basis.
• Oversee all operations staff members including full-time, part-time and temporary workers.
• Train staff on all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures.
• Assist with preparation of work schedules, staffing requirements. 
• Ability to coordinate assigned tasks while overseeing workers from two staff members up to twenty-plus staff members.
• Ability to instruct and demonstrate to staff members the proper and safe techniques for all work assignments.
• Responsible for over-seeing service agreements associated with the back of house operation to include, but not limited to, the set-up, tear-down, clean-up and maintenance of the arena.
• Coordinate with facility staff for timely facility set-up and support.
• Supervise facility conversion, ensuring the timely set-up of arena events while maintain the appropriate safety standards.
• Complete maintenance forms for equipment and facility.
• Supervise and perform various landscaping functions and duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Kansas.
• One to three years facility maintenance and/or event set-up required.
• Fork lift licenses a plus.
• Ability to speak and write in English.
• Strong written and oral communication, ability to communicate at multiple levels; as well as one-on-one and within a group setting.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.
• Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer service and effective communications with guests and employees.

PART TIME POSITIONS

 

Bar Back - Club

Position requires an individual to assist the bartenders.  The right individual will have, customer service skills, positive attitude, basic knowledge of how a bar environment works, and food service.  Responsible for accurate accounting and all transactions and assist with location inventory controls.                                

Responsibilities:
• Maintain ice in all the wells.
• Restock the bar with beer, liquor, wine, cups, juices, etc. Make sure that everything is at the bar and that we are stocked with enough backups for the shift. Note: Always rotate the products.
• Check the draft beers to make sure they are working and that they are not empty. If they are empty, change the kegs.
• Make sure bar is clean before opening.
• Follow rules and regulations of SMG Food & Beverage.
• Interact with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ensure inventory counts are accurate before, during and after events.

Duties:
• Reports to Club Manager in appropriate uniform, for assigned location.
• Accurately verify all inventories.
• Follows all rules and regulations that apply to the beverage operations and to SMG Food and Beverage Division.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:
• Basic working knowledge of food and beverage.
• Basic math ability to accurately count.
• Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
• Positive attitude and neat appearance.

Bartender - Club

• Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the beverage operations and to SMG Food and Beverage Division.

Club Supervisor

Oversee and direct employees on assigned job expectations.  Maintain policy and procedures for SMG and SAVOR… while being compliant with Kansas Health Department.  Oversee Club staff in all areas of service from preparing for an event to daily operation.  Responsible for accurate accounting, transactions and inventory control.

• Supervise employees (club staff) and all premium areas serviced throughout the arena.

Operations Crew

Under general supervision performs work as needed to clean, maintain and prepare for events at the facility.  Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events.  Duties may include setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable wall, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment.
• Perform varies duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met.  These include, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
• Assist with pre/post event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tile, replacing filters, etc.
• Assist building engineers and subcontractors in construction, repair and maintenance of the building.
• Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Position is open to COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY (Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students) who are seeking an internship for academic credit as part of their college/univeristy curriculum.
