Cleaning Services Manager

Under general supervision of the Operations Director, manage, coordinate, supervise, and direct personnel, subcontractors, and the daily activities involved in the successful execution of events, daily cleaning and maintenance of the INTRUST Bank Arena by performing the following duties personally and through subordinate supervisors and personnel.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Oversees all custodial services, including ordering supplies, scheduling labor, and implementing cost savings measures.
• Maintain, inspect and repair any related equipment.
• Work with Human Resources to hire and train all custodial workers, including custodial supervisor(s), event attendants and temporary workers.
• Oversee the building grounds, stairways, plaza and entryways to present a well-kept and clean appearance at all times.
• Purchase all cleaning supplies including paper products, bags and equipment.
• Create schedules, reports and other administrative requirements of the custodial operations.
• Act as building liaison with labor providers, salesperson, and other suppliers to guarantee best rates and prices. Also, negotiates agreement for dispensers and other equipment.
• Continually inspect the facility to insure that proper cleaning is being performed on all facilities and areas.
• Be trained and train all staff on Blood Borne Pathogens, including part-time staff.
• Assist in building shut down, lock out and structural security after events and during dark periods.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Operations Director.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.  
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Cleaning Services Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrate knowledge of the industrial cleaning techniques, chemical and industrial paper products, purchasing guidelines and employee management principles.
• Possess skills and experience in labor relations and supervising /training personnel.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
• Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School or GED Certificate graduate.
• Five (5) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position experience.

Maintenance Technician 1

Under direction of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for preventive maintenance, and repairs to the buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.   Must have working knowledge of all building mechanical (air handlers, blower coil units), electrical (110/220, 277/480 volt), HVAC, boiler plant, Trane chiller plant, plumbing (automatic flush valves, automatic sink faucets), life safety, fire protection and suppression systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions out of the ordinary.  608 technician certified.

Responsibilities:
• Preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boiler plant, chiller plant, ice plant equipment and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights, etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include, but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), recirculating air systems, water pumping systems, cooling plant and all plumbing system components. Also conduct general building maintenance, as needed.
• Operate, monitor and perform preventive maintenance on an Ammonia ice plant, used for freezing the arena floor for ice events.
• Monitor operation of the HVAC systems, noting current status, identifying potential problems and taking corrective action where appropriate.
• Work with outside contractors when required.
• Submit completed work orders on time.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, filters, and belts as required.
• Read and interpret performance charts and control panels to evaluate the efficiency of each system.
• Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the site.
• Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies, prepare requisition forms for purchases and pick-up supplies and materials from vendors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
• Run facility’s environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC and lighting systems.
• Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties:

Payroll and Payable Accountant

Process multiple payrolls, bi-weekly through ADP.  Assist in the daily financial operations. 

Responsibilities:
• Process multiple SMG facility payrolls bi-weekly.
• Process all wage garnishments, deductions, and payments for applicable employees, in a timely manner.
• Calculate and process vacation, sick, and other time-off benefits each payroll.
• Prepare payroll adjustments.
• Prepare manual checks, maintain check log and post to ADP.
• Prepare and update payroll journal entries.
• Prepare accounts payable checks and match with corresponding invoice and purchase request forms.
• Accurately input payable invoices into Sage 50 (Peachtree) daily.
• Assist Accounting Manager in preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliation.
• Monthly reconciliation of payable and payroll balance sheet accounts.

PART TIME POSITIONS

 

Bartender - Club

Position requires an individual to have, customer service skills, positive attitude, basic knowledge of bartending and food service.  Responsible for accurate accounting and all transactions and assist with location inventory controls.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
• Maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times.
• Accurate pouring and mixing of drinks.
• Check ID when serving alcohol.
• Follow rules and regulations of SMG Food & Beverage.
• Interact with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ensures proper opening and closing.
• Ensure proper pouring per SAVOR policy.
• Ensures inventory counts are accurate before, during and after events.

Duties:
• Reports to Club Manager in appropriate uniform, for assigned location.
• Cash and credit transaction experience.
• Accurately verify all cash and liquor inventory.
• Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the beverage operations and to SMG Food and Beverage Division.
• Request identification for every guest purchasing alcohol.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager.

Club Supervisor

Oversee and direct employees on assigned job expectations.  Maintain policy and procedures for SMG and SAVOR… while being compliant with Kansas Health Department.  Oversee Club staff in all areas of service from preparing for an event to daily operation.  Responsible for accurate accounting, transactions and inventory control.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise employees (club staff) and all premium areas serviced throughout the arena.
• Ensure high level of guest service and hospitality with a high standard of quality and cleanliness.
• Act as a contact person for employees and/or guests with complaints.
• Communicate with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain safe working conditions and a sanitary work area.
• Identify food orders when ready and ensure timely delivery to guests.
• Oversee staff to ensure they follow accurate cash handling procedures. 
• Maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes and other pertinent information.
• Increase knowledge of food, beverages and other products and services.
• Teach current and new staff members on knowledge of food, beverages and other products and services.
• Greet guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.
• Follow and enforce rules and regulations of SMG, SAVOR…, food handlers, alcohol policies, and INTRUST Bank Arena guidelines.

• Report to Club Manager at scheduled report time in appropriate uniform.

• Oversee the accuracy and verify all cash and inventory is correct.

Concessions Supervisor

Position requires an individual to have supervisory skills, customer service skills, positive attitude, knowledge of food preparation.  Position will oversee both concession stand and/or portables, in all areas from preparing food to day-to-day operation, responsible for accurate accounting and all transactions and assist with location inventory controls.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise multiple locations, non-profit groups and employees.
• Ensure high level of customer service with a high standard of quality and cleanliness.

• Lead team or teams working in concession stands either portable or on the floor.

Guest Experience Parking Attendant

Under general supervision of the Guest Experience Manager and/or Parking Lot Supervisor; the attendant will assist with controlling and monitoring all parking and traffic within the INTRUST Bank Arena parking lots.        

Responsibilities:
• Be aware of all events at INTRUST Bank Arena to handle all traffic and parking on site day of event.
• Work closely with Guest Experience Manager on timing of traffic flow as well as needs to divide or reserve portions of the parking lot.
• Be familiar with the layout of the parking facilities and the positions assigned to each lot.
• Prevent all who wish to distribute fliers and other advertising materials in parking lots or attempting to place these materials on vehicles in the parking lots.
• Collect fee for parking where assigned.
• Check-out and check-in uniform shirts, reflective vest, keys and radios necessary to perform assigned position with the Guest Experience Manager.
• Assist guests who have “car challenges” at end of events.
• Act in a professional manner with clients, employees, exhibitors, guests, and others encountered in the course of employment.
• Provide the best service possible to every client, guest and vendor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Operations Crew

Under general supervision performs work as needed to clean, maintain and prepare for events at the facility.  Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events.  Duties may include setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable wall, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment.
• Perform varies duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met.  These include, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
• Assist with pre/post event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tile, replacing filters, etc.
• Assist building engineers and subcontractors in construction, repair and maintenance of the building.
• Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.

Premium Seating Server - Club

Sales and service of Food and Beverage to guests in our Club and Loge premium seating.  Serves guests, and presents guest with bill and processes payments correctly, Regular attendance, conformance with the policies established by SMG is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Responsibilities:
• Promptly take orders and deliver orders to guests.
• Deliver guests beverages.
• Independent cashier, responsible for accuracy.

Sales Assistant

Under direct supervision, this position will assist the Sales Manager with administrative and clerical responsibilities for sponsorships sales and premium seating ticket orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain and process premium seating ticket requests and orders as assigned by the Sales Manager.
• Organize ticket orders for mailing and will call distribution, ensuring customer data input is accurate and updated.
• Develop sales presentations in a professional and effective manner.
• Provide superior customer service to all Premium Seat Holders.
• Maintain premium owner files and records in an organized and accurate fashion.
• Assist Sales Manager with setting up new account information for clients and customers.

Ticket Specialist

Position requires an individual to assist guests with ticket purchases over the phone and in person for Select-A-Seat.  

Responsibilities:
• Answer questions related to price, seating, and event information with courtesy and efficiency for all Select-A-Seat locations.
• Accept payment form agreed upon and distribute tickets properly. Keep accurate daily balance sheet for cash received and tickets sold.
• Fulfill ticket requests at will-call window according to procedures.
• Open and close ticket window as required.

Warehouse Runner

Transfer and deliver product to appropriate concession stands and various locations while maintaining proper inventory counts going out of and coming into the warehouse.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately count inventories coming in and going out of the warehouse.
• Transport Keg’s and packaged beer products.
• Ability to lift multiple times while loading and unloading in appropriate locations.

Marketing & Sales Internship (Unpaid) - Fall 2017

Position is open to COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY (Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students) who are seeking an internship for academic credit as part of their college/univeristy curriculum.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Applicant must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Hours/schedule based on school’s credit hour requirements; Minimum of 10 hours per week preferred.
• Applicant must have a history of relevant coursework or experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher a plus

Description & Objectives:
• Learn to develop and implement integrated event marketing plans, including advertising, public relations, trade, social media, group sales and grassroots campaigns
• Conduct research for various marketing and group sales projects on a per-show basis
• Learn to research target markets and develop grassroots efforts, and assist in creating and distributing promotional materials (posters, flyers, register to win boxes)
• Assist the Group Sales & Marketing Associate with soliciting and managing group sales and group incentives with each group account
• Work with the Marketing & Group Sales Coordinator to build our group sales database and to find new, creative ways to reach out to them
• Assist the Sales Manager with researching sponsorship leads and cold calling
• Assist in updating and maintaining the department databases and spreadsheets
• Learn and assist with implementation of marketing campaigns on several social media platforms
• Assist the marketing staff at booths/tables at festivals, fairs, and other events with high traffic to publicize the arena and our events
• Take ownership of the Marketing Booth located on the concourse during arena events and assist with creating new ways to make the booth more interactive
• Learn to create marketing materials utilizing Photoshop and PowerPoint
• Assist with various public relations functions including brainstorming, planning and executing PR events
